Radiator Coolant / Anti-Freeze: The Problem
The job of coolant, also known as Anti-Freeze, is to lower the freezing point of distilled water so that it will not freeze in extremely cold climates. If your engine freezes it will lead to cracks in the block and head. Another job that coolant has is to increase the boiling point of distilled water, which keeps the engine from overheating. When the coolant becomes old, it is no longer effective and your engine can easily overheat.
In time, the coolant will deteriorate and end up forming harmful deposits. These deposits build up and obstruct the flow of the coolant, leading to a system failure.
A fluid flush will clean and remove these deposits, along with rust and debris.
The technicians at Mazda of Stoney Creek will first bring your vehicle to operating temperature. Then coolant will be added, which will remove sludge, rust, and deposits. Next, our flush machine pulls out all of the old coolant and a 50/50 combination of water/coolant is added into the coolant system. Lastly, all air is removed from the system and conditioner is added to preserve the metal components by keeping them lubricated and soft.
Transmission Fluid: The Problem
Transmission fluid breaks down because it is always under constant heat and pressure. When it breaks down it loses its capability to protect up to 100 or more moving parts that make up the transmission system. Condensation and moisture can also get into the transmission and cause the fluid to break down. The more the fluid deteriorates, the less protection your vehicle has against wear.
In order to clean out any sludge and varnish, our technicians first add cleaner to your transmission. Then they will flush out all of the old, broken down fluid and replace it with new fluid. In order to prevent leaks and failures, we add transmission conditioner into your vehicles transmission, which will condition external and internal seals and hoses.
Brake Fluid: The Problem
Unfortunately, moisture is naturally drawn to brake fluid. Having brake fluid that is contaminated with moisture will lessen its performance during panic stops, down hill braking, and during stop-and-go traffic. This is a serious safety hazard for you and other drivers. The moisture can also corrode parts of your vehicle, which can lead to costly repairs down the road. The break down of the fluid means that it can no longer maintain external and internal seals. Brake fluids can leak from calipers, wheel cylinders, the master cylinder, and in extreme cases your hoses might even fail.
Our technicians will first cleanse your vehicles brake systems by flushing out old, deteriorated brake fluid. Then they will add brand-new brake fluid to ensure that all metal parts are kept in pristine condition and preventing any premature seal failures.
Fuel System Service: The Problem
Your vehicle’s fuel system will probably, at some point, suffer from deposits of corrosion, dirt, and varnish due to contaminants and condensation. When the fuel in your vehicle is burned it leaves behind carbon deposits on everything in its path. Loss of fuel power, rough idling, “check engine light”, errors, and higher emissions are just a few problems that these carbon deposits and contaminants can cause within your engine.

In order to remove varnish and blockages from your injectors, our technicians use fuel injection cleaner with a special tool to flush out the system.
- Throttle Body and Chamber Service
The technicians will use an air intake cleaner to cleanse the throttle body and chamber and rid them of carbon deposits. They will also clean and remove your idle air control motor/valve, if your vehicle has one. Lastly, our technicians will lubricate any and all moving parts to prevent corrosion or a sticking throttle in the future.
- Decarb/Emission Service
To rid the intake manifold, valves, pistons, and combustion chambers of all carbon deposits, our technicians will use intake system cleaner to help reduce rough idling, emissions, and catalytic converter buildup.
Power Steering Fluid: The Problem
Power steering systems are made up of high-pressure hydraulic systems that include a lubricating fluid. Over a period of time, this fluid oxidizes and loses its capability to preform and lubricate its intended purpose. Reduction of your vehicles steering and hardening of seals may cause fluid leakage; this can caused by premature wear. This leads into system failure and unneeded power steering system part replacements.
Before adding brand new power steering fluid to your vehicle, we will back flush all of the old deteriorated fluid from the power steering system. This will prevent premature failure of mechanical moving parts. Then we will add power steering conditioner to the system, which conditions external and internal seals and hoses, this helps prevent premature failures and leaks later on.
Engine Oil Flush: The Problem
The oil in the engine of your vehicle is put under intense pressure and heat. This is why combustion chamber gases end up contaminating the oil, making oil replacement necessary. Regular oil changes are not enough to protect your vehicle. Oil changes still leave up to 20% of the old contaminated oil in your vehicles engine. After some time, these contaminants start to affect the performance, emissions, and mileage of your vehicle.
When fluid deteriorated it no longer has the capability to maintain external and internal seals. This eventually causes seal failure and leads to oil leaks. Costly repairs will be needed to replace seals and fix your damaged engine due to oil leakage.
Our technicians will pour engine cleaner into your vehicle and run it at operating temperature. This will circulate the cleaning in the engine and remove varnish, sludge, and debris on all moving parts. Then we flush out all of the fluid from the engine and install new oil with a new filter. Finally, engine oil conditioner is added to condition seals and lower oil consumption between oil changes.
